Baseball in the face. May.31.1969

This is one of my favourite photos. I love the actual worry on my face as I notice my brother's eyes firmly closed and the feeble attempt to catch a ball that can only, at best, be caught in his mouth.

Backyard Touch Football - 1968

Jill Cole - 1967

Jill Cole (and all the Coles) are cousins who aren't cousins but are. Let's just say old friends. Our parents were friends growing up, and their parents before that. Jill and Susie lived much closer to our grandparents and both Rose and Harry filled in and were very much Bub and Zaid to those kids too. They very much considered them extra grandchildren and doled out just as much love and spoiling, if not more! And we never thought of Jill and Susie as anything other than really cool cousins. Obviously Jill wasn't looking very cool at this age. Just cute.

Fishing on Lake Champlain - 1965?

Steven, Happy, and my Dad. Look at the size of that fish!

Why don't people wear hats like this anymore?

Dinah Max, Rose Roth and Phyllis at the Museum of Natural History.

Good hats. Clearly a big day out.

The one that looks like she's about 8 is my mom. My Grandmother, Rose Roth, is the one holding her with an white gloved - vice like - grip.

Annie Roth and Nadine Roth, neices of Harry

In the Great Depression, when taking up an expensive hobby was frowned upon, especially by my grandmother, he took up photography. Eventually they could afford film and food.
Says Nadine Weinberg, "Ann and I were in front of my house on Riverdale Avenue playing with the carriages. I think the year may have been 1948 or 1949. We were about 3 or 4." Ah cute.
